TKX — Acid-Based Wheel Cleaner
TKX is D-TAIL LAB’s acid-based wheel cleaner engineered for deep removal of stubborn contamination—especially baked-on brake dust—on painted alloy, magnesium, and steel wheels. Built for pros who need maximum bite and time savings on neglected rims.
What TKX Does
Rapidly breaks down mineral-bound grime and heavy metallic deposits so they rinse away more easily, restoring clarity and brightness to tired wheel faces and barrels.
Why You Need TKX
- Heavy-duty performance for baked-on brake dust and stubborn fallout.
- Targeted for wheels — best suited to painted alloy, magnesium, and steel.
- Strongly acidic (≈ pH 1–2) for fast action when gentler chemistry won’t cut it.
- Pro workflow tip — try an acid-free wheel cleaner (e.g., ORION) and an iron remover (PURGE) first; step up to TKX only if needed.
Where to Use It
- Painted/clear-coated alloy wheels; magnesium and steel wheels (as specified)
- Wheel faces, barrels, and behind spokes
- Avoid bare/uncoated aluminum, raw magnesium, delicate anodized finishes, and carbon-ceramic components (always spot test).
Directions
- Work on cool wheels in shade. Do not use on hot surfaces or in direct sun.
- Pre-rinse to remove loose grit. Wear gloves and eye protection.
- Spray TKX evenly on the wheel (face & barrel). Allow a short dwell: 15–45 seconds while monitoring. Do not let dry.
- Agitate with appropriate wheel brushes as needed, then rinse thoroughly with strong water pressure.
- Repeat only on the most stubborn areas. Neutralize and wash the wheel with a pH-neutral shampoo afterward.
Pro Tip: Save TKX for the worst buildup. For routine cleaning, use an acid-free wheel cleaner to preserve delicate finishes; reserve TKX as your “last resort” for rapid turnaround on heavily neglected rims.
Safety & Care
- Professional use only. Use PPE (gloves, goggles) and ensure ventilation.
- Never allow product to dry; re-mist and rinse if flashing occurs.
- Rinse brakes and tires thoroughly; avoid carbon-ceramic discs and sensitive finishes.
Pairs Well With
-
Tire & Rim Brush — deep agitation on sidewalls and wheel faces.
- HDPE Chemical-Resistant Bottle (1 L) — durable bottle for acid-capable sprayers.
- Red Heavy-Duty Chemical Sprayer — consistent, controlled delivery on wheel surfaces.
Good to Know
TKX is a strong acid (≈ pH 1–2). Always spot test first, keep panels wet, and thoroughly neutralize and wash after use to protect nearby finishes.
